The year is 446 AD. The beleaguered Britons have endured a debilitating plague and are surrounded by enemies. Meanwhile in Gaul the Romans face conquest by the Huns and the empire teeters on the edge of destruction as city after city falls to the barbarians.

This is a story of devotion to God, to duty and to each other. History records the imperial palace intrigue and treachery but the legends tell of the bravery of the last generation that held the line against the gathering storm facing impossible odds whilst enduring immense personal loss.
